20,000-square-foot building located at prominent downtown location
Business and community leaders today celebrated the grand opening of a historic, well-known piece of property in downtown St. Cloud. Highbanks Plaza, an $8 million development anchored by Bremer Bank, is located at the southeast corner of 2nd Street South and 5th Avenue South. The site was previously occupied by St. Cloud City Hall, which was demolished as part of the redevelopment. The two story, 20,000-square-foot building, employs over 60 Bremer employees.
“Bremer has been a proud partner to the St. Cloud community for nearly 100 years, and we’re excited to cut the ribbon on such a significant reinvestment, signaling to the region that we are here to stay,” said Bremer President and CEO Jeanne Crain. “With this new downtown location, we will continue to provide value-added financial services to central Minnesotans in a more modern and personalized environment that drives partnership and value for our customers.”

Conceptualized to include modern features throughout its interior, the design of the Highbanks Plaza complements the architectural style and historic context of the surrounding neighborhood. Bremer’s new branch inspires a collaborative and welcoming atmosphere through fresh design features, which includes replacing traditional bank teller lines with accessible “partner tables” in the lobby for improved service and stronger banker-customer partnerships. There are also open workstations in the building’s welcome plaza.
Minnesota-based Frauenshuh, Inc. and Inventure Properties served as development and project management consultants for the construction project. RJM Construction was the general contractor. Bremer has locations throughout western Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota.
